The Onion Bag Litter Prevention Project
The organization places boxes filled with onion bags along rivers and lakes. Boaters can grab a bag before heading out, collect trash during their trip, and then dispose of it properly upon return. The onion bag is returned to the box for the next person to use. In addition to these efforts, the organization also hosts litter cleanup events. Curtis leads two initiatives: the Litter Eliminator and Tire Terminator programs. Participants who collect a certain number of trash bags or tires earn a sticker badge as a reward. I worked with Curtis to design a logo and marketing materials for his organization and these impactful programs, using the main color orange, of the onion bags themselves. He’s working to place this program at most boat access points. Learn more about what he does here.
